You play as Kiri, a forest-spirit / wisp. The example level also conains a rune-altar, which will be used to unlock new abilities, as well as some gems/coins which will later be used to purchase various items (eg. maps, health or speed upgrades).

Controls:
Move: AD or Arrows
Jump/DoubleJump: Space
Dash: Left Shift
